Mindful Meanders
The Corona pandemic has affected us all in profound and unexpected ways. The March quarantine in Connecticut interrupted a project about local artisans, and I found myself searching for an outlet for my photography. Conversations about “forest bathing” and “mindfulness” were the impetus for both exercising my camera and improving my state of mind during this trying time. The process consisted of early morning excursions to some local spot – a back road, small village, a seldom used trail…picked somewhat at random. Followed by an hour or two of trying to see and photograph the essence of that place. Among the results were the photographs herein, and a sense of calm that has helped me cope with our present reality.
These meanderings have been for me the break from the chaos that currently surrounds. They are not the solution or cure for the world’s current troubles, but rather a means to find an inner peace in the face of those woes. They renew the soul and encourage one to persevere.
